While the replacement for the Ford Everest a.k.a Ford Endeavour is long overdue, the seven seater SUV gets a minor facelift in Indonesia to buy some more time. The Everest has been on the market for 10 years and is on its third facelift.

The latest facelift reached other international markets like South Africa earlier this year and is now penetrating Asian countries where it gets most of its volumes from.

Ford's Broadmeddows design center penned the Figo's Territory-ish hexagonal grille. We suspect the same stylists are behind the Endeavour refresh.

As far as the exterior is concerned, the Indonesia spec Everest receives a hexagonal secondary air intake which is reminiscent with that of the Figo facelift, and new fog lamps. The grill gets slimmer and the headlamp edges that meet the grille are more angular.

Ford's obsession with grilles is clearly evident from their recent SUV designs.

The interior also undergoes subtle improvements like new trims for the door pads, leather wrapped steering and gear lever, and revised graphics for the instrument console. The design and layout of the dashboard remains the same.

Equipment wise, the high-end variant of the Indonesian Everest gets cruise control. Other standard features include tilt steering, GPS navigation, rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, Airbags (curtain airbags on high end variants) and keyless entry with engine immobilizer.

2013 Ford Everest (Endeavour)
The Ranger-based Endeavour is in its 10th year of service and has been refreshed thrice.

Powering the SUV is a 2.5 litre TDCI diesel engine that makes 143bhp and 330 Nm of torque. Both rear and four wheel drive versions are available and you can specify the car with either a 5-speed manual or an automatic gearbox.

The price for the refreshed Everest starts at 356.8 million Indonesian Rupiah (around Rs. 21.16 lakhs) for the 4x2 MT and heads north to 435.5 million (around Rs. 25.76 lakhs) for the 4x4 AT.

The beige interior is replaced with an all-black theme in the facelift.

The 2013 Ford Everest will compete with the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Nissan X-Trail, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and the Isuzu MU-7. Replacements for all three competitors are expected between now and 2016.

Will Ford India consider a similar exercise for the Endeavour next year?
