Spied - IAB reader spots the 2014 Audi A8 testing in Mumbai [Video]

The 2014 Audi A8 has already started testing in India and and a few spyshots of the upgraded car have also been shown to you.

Matrix LED technology debut on the new A8.

Our ardent reader Mr. Snatak Mundade has managed to capture the fully camouflaged car near Powai in Mumbai. His spyshots clearly show the facelifted A8's Matrix LED headlights. In addition, the base of the tech-packed headlamp is flat compared to the current unit's curvy edges.

Audi's flagship sedan gets slightly revised grille and new front bumper. The profile remains intact while the rear gets redesigned diffuser, rhomboidal twin exhaust tips (except S8) and an additional chrome strip connecting the taillights. The boot space has been improved by 10 litres.

Each headlamp unit consists of 25 LEDs for high beam that can be dimmed individually to offer full illumination without blinding oncoming traffic. The headlamps interact with the MMI to prepare themselves well in advance to illuminate the corners.

The interior is much like the current car except for the three spoke steering wheel which is now standard across all variants. You can also choose from a number of interior trim options.

The A8 facelift will be launched in Europe next Tuesday.

To take on the new S Class, the Audi A8 facelift gains new equipment like adaptive cruise control with Stop&Go function, 360-degree camera, and an improved Audi pre-sense basic safety system.

Revised grille, bumper and new headlights constitute the 2014 model's front fascia.

The current lineup of powertrains will continue with improvements in power, fuel efficiency and emissions.

The 2014 Audi A8 will be launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show next Tuesday. The range starts at 74,500 Euros (around Rs. 64.82 lakhs) in Germany.

The rear is characterized by different taillamps, exhaust tips and a chrome embellishment on the boot lid.

Even though the car has already started testing in India, it would take a few months for the launch to happen. We expect that either during end of 2013 or at the Auto Expo next February.
