You would be hard pressed to tell the A8 facelift from looking at its side, for there are absolutely no changes, but for a few new alloy wheel styles. At the rear, Audi has added a chrome strip extending across the width of the bootlid and there are subtle detailing changes to the taillights.

Central to the facelift is the Matrix LED headlight.

At the front, the 2014 A8 is immediately recognizable thanks to its Matrix LED headlights. As we have updated you on this technology before, the Matrix LED is Audi's new technology for adaptive lights that automatically dim themselves for oncoming traffic.

The A8 in this video happens to be the long wheelbase version with the W12 engine. Whether the Matrix technology is offered as standard or as an optional extra is something we'll know once the official announcement has been made.

The 2014 A8 will have its public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show which commences on September 10. Sales in Europe is expected to commence by the end of this year.

Thanks to the early spy images of the 2014 A8 on Indian roads, we can estimate Audi India to launch their flagship sedan in early 2014.
