2014 BMW X5 gets M Performance Parts, to be available from March 2014
The 2014 BMW X5 was announced in the middle of this year and production at BMW's American facility in Spartanburg, South Carolina, began on the 1st of August.
Speaking to Indian Autos Blog at the launch of the BMW Z4 this month, Mr. Philipp von Sahr, president of BMW India, said that the company was just planning to launch the new model, and we should see it next year.
Meanwhile BMW have just announced their M range of performance accessories for the new X5 and here's a look at some of them. For the X5 xDrive35i variant, a power kit will be available which adds a further 20 bhp and 50 Nm of torque, without compromising on the fuel efficiency or emissions. BMW will also optimize the accelerator pedal set-up as part of this package.
Apart from this and M Performance brakes, other accessories will not improve the performance of your X5, only improving the aesthetic appeal. Chief among these include a black decorative grid for the kidney grille, front splitter, carbon covers for the wing mirrors, M Performance floor mats (really BMW? Really?) and 21-inch M Performance light-alloy wheels.
All variants of the new BMW X5 can be fitted with a M Performance tailpipe in chrome or carbon.
