Fiat India has commenced taking bookings for the 2014 Linea facelift. The sedan, which featured in our list of upcoming mid-size sedans yesterday, will be launched in Mumbai on March 5.

As our previous story revealed, noteworthy features on the refreshed 2014 Fiat Linea include a brand new dashboard with restyled AC vents, cruise control, reverse parking sensors, radio with audio commands and a new music system which retains existing features such as USB, AUX-in and Bluetooth. Automatic wipers and headlights are already seen on the top-end variants of the Linea.

Features on the Fiat Linea facelift include cruise control and reverse parking sensors.

The Linea will be offered with a petrol and a diesel engine. The diesel motor, is not the 1.6-liter Multijet, but instead the same 1.3-liter Multijet engine which produces 93 PS at 4,000 rpm and 209 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm on the current model.

Fiat will not offer the naturally-aspirated 1.4-liter petrol engine on the refreshed Linea. The 2014 Linea petrol will get its power from the 1.4-liter turbocharged T-JET engine which produces 114 PS at 5,000 rpm and 207 Nm of torque at 2,200 rpm on the current model. Both variants of the new Linea are paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.

The booking amount for the new Linea is INR 5,000. Post the interim budget announcement, Fiat India is believed to have re-thought the prices of the car.
