Honda has officially announced in a statement that the 2014 Honda Jazz (2014 Honda Fit for some parts of the world) would go on sale in Japan come September.

The official statement is inline with all our previous reports that the all new Jazz would be shown to the world by the end of this year itself.

The statement issued by the company was for the start of production at their new plant in Yorii, Japan. Honda says that this Saitama factory will produce the Freed MPV and the "all new Fit (Jazz) which is scheduled to go on sale in Japan this September".

The statement also says that Honda has already begun production at this plant. Does that mean that first few units of the all new Jazz have already started rolling off the assembly line?

Honda says that the plant will produce the "World's Eco-Friendliest products" indicating that the Jazz's claimed 36km/l fuel efficiency could prove to be true. The production capacity of this plant is rated at 250,000 units per annum.

Coming to the most important question, when will India get to see the new Jazz? Honda India is expected to launch the all new Jazz in the country in early 2014. The Jazz this time around will also be available with a diesel engine.
