The ‘Fluidic Sculpture’ design language has made the Hyundais an absolute visual delight and the latest candidate to enroll for this cosmetic surgery is the next generation i10.

This won't just be a visual makeover, but a comprehensive overhaul to one of India's favorite cars.

The testing of the all-new i10 (code - Hyundai BA) started a while ago and our Motor Vikatan reader Jayavel caught the cars testing in Chennai. The test mules were disguised but a short glance is enough to say that the next gen i10 is definitely bigger.

2014 Hyundai i10 - A looker?

The nose will get the ‘Fluidic’ treatment which will include an aggressive grill and bumper along with larger swept back headlamps. It’ll bear the new family look and won’t stand out amidst the Verna, Elantra and Sonata.

The side profile doesn’t have much of change in shape, but expect bold character lines like in the Eon. The rear too is likely to be overhauled and the car will have a more masculine and grown-up appearance.

From the spyshots it is clear that the interior also will the carry the Fluidic theme and will be radically different from the current car.

2014 Hyundai i10 engine options

The i10 is sold in India with a 1.1 litre Epsilon or a 1.2 litre Kappa 2 petrol engines, and the former also fires on LPG. The biggest news about the Fluidic i10 is the diesel option. Hyundai will bring the 1.1 litre 3 cylinder CRDI diesel engine that’s found in the European i20, according to our industry sources.

Hyundai is expanding the production capacity of its Turkey plant to 200,000 units and we suspect the new i10 for the European market will come from there while the Indian plant will cater only to domestic and other RHD markets.

Hyundai is likely to unveil the overhauled i10 at the Frankfurt Auto Show next year.
