Frankfurt Live - 2014 Land Rover Discovery bows in

The updated Land Rover Discovery for 2014 has been revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The 2014 Land Rover Discovery gets an altered look, new badging, and a host of new interior features.

Starting with the exterior, the 2014 Discovery receives a new grille, front bumper, headlight design, new daytime running lights with LED signature, and two new alloy wheel designs.

2014 Land Rover Discovery Rear

It has to be said that the biggest change is the name up front. The ‘Discovery’ name is replaced by ‘Land Rover’ on the bonnet. At the rear, the '4' will be deleted leaving just the word ‘Discovery.’

2014 Land Rover Discovery Dashboard

The 2014 Discovery will retain its 256PS 3.0 SDV6 engine, but with CO2 emissions reduced from 230g/km to 213g/km, and fuel consumption improved to 35.3mpg. All variants get an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission.

On the kit front, the 2014 model receives Wade Sensing (that premiered on the Range Rover Sport), Blind Spot Monitoring, Reverse Traffic Detection, Closing Vehicle Sensing, and T-junction Cameras.

Meridian premium audio features an 8-speaker, 380 Watts system as standard, while an upgrade to a 17-speaker 825 Watt output system is also possible.
