Official - 2014 Mercedes E 63 AMG to be launched in India on July 25
The 2014 Mercedes E 63 AMG will be launched in India on July 25.
On the sidelines of the Mercedes B Class diesel launch, Mr. Eberhard Kern, Managing Director, Mercedes-Benz India confirmed to IndianAutosBlog.com that the performance saloon is indeed coming our way on the aforementioned date.
Mercedes is on a product offensive having launched the new GL Class, A Class, 2014 E Class and B Class diesel in quick succession. The momentum will be maintained with the launch of the new E 63 AMG.
Powered by a 5.5 litre turbocharged V8, the E 63 AMG is available in two variants internationally - AMG and AMG S. The standard AMG version puts out 557bhp and 720 Nm of torque. The S version is capable of 585 bhp and 800 Nm of torque. The former gets to 100kph from rest in 4.2 seconds while the latter manages a time of 3.6 seconds!
Both cars bank on Mercedes' 4MATIC all wheel drive system to get the dynamics right. Overall, the E is vested with enough badness to take on the BMW M5 and the Audi S6 which will be launched tomorrow!

The performance saloon segment in India is still very small but the German car makers make very good use of it as brand shapers.
Helped by new launches, Mercedes India saw its sales grow by an impressive 32% in the second quarter of this year. The car maker is bullish about the second half of 2013 and says there is lot more to exciting products to come!
