USA - First 2014 Nissan Rogue (X-Trail) rolls out as the 10 millionth Tennessee-built car

Nissan USA celebrates two milestones, one involving the 2014 Nissan Rogue (which is nothing but the 2014 Nissan X-Trail) and the other involving their Smyrna plant in Tennessee, USA.

2014 Nissan Rogue production

The first 2014 Rogue rolled out of this plant yesterday, thus becoming the 10 millionth vehicle to have been built in the Tennessee plant.

The Tennessee plant has been in operation for more than 30 years and currently builds the Altima, Maxima, Pathfinder, Leaf and Infiniti QX60 apart from the new Rogue.

The Altima, Frontier and Sentra are the three top contributors to the Nissan plant reaching the 10 million landmark.

For the American market, the Rogue will be sold with a single engine option which is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine producing 170 hp and 237 Nm of torque. This is paired to Nissan's XTronic CVT gearbox and drive is sent to either the front wheels or all four wheels depending on the variant you choose.

The 10 millionth Tennessee built car is also the first ever 2014 Rogue.

The Rogue has been priced from USD 22,490 (INR 13.88 lakhs) for the base 2WD model and extends up to USD 29,420 (INR 18.16 lakhs) for the top-end 4WD model.

Susan Brennan, Nissan's vice president of manufacturing in Smyrna, said -

For more than 30 years, the Smyrna plant has been building high-quality vehicles, and today's milestone serves as further testament to the flexibility, efficiency and talent of our U.S. workforce.
