New York Live - Refreshed Honda Odyssey gets an in-built car vacuum cleaner

The Honda Odyssey is the 'people mover' for the Japanese maker. You may compare the Odyssey to cars like the Renault Espace and Honda has been making the Odyssey since 1995.

The car was conceived and developed in Japan completely.

Honda's just announced a refreshed variant of the Odyssey and has placed it on display at the New York Auto Show. The refresh brings to the car some cosmetic changes like a modified front grille, front and rear bumpers and some tweaks to the tail lights.

From the front, the Odyssey looks almost CRV-ish thanks to the similar grille and the head lamps.

The interior also sees some updates like a new center stack and different finishing. However, the main talking point of the car is the all new Honda Vac.

This is an in-built vacuum cleaner that has a hose big enough to reach into the cabin of the car so that you can clean it. Honda says that the vacuum cleaner will work for about 8 minutes after the car's ignition is turned off. Alternatively, it can run for an indefinite period of time until the car's fuel runs out.

The Honda Vac comes standard on the top-end Odyssey Touring Elite spec. Apart from this, features like Forward Collision warning and Lane Departure Warning a new 7-inch Honda infotainment system also come standard.

The Honda Vac is indeed a good idea and something that would be well appreciated on our Indian conditions, especially when your interior is beige in color. Honda India, are you listening?
