Piaggio's best selling model, the Liberty 3v 125cc, with extensive renovation, have been showcased at the EICMA 2013. The scooter's chassis and the engine have been improved for better safety, comfort, space, performance and fuel consumption, Piaggio claims.

The new Liberty 3v gets a new saddle which is tapered on the sides for better feet support. The under-seat storage compartment is 23% more in capacity, improving from 8.8 to 10.8 liters.

The 2014 Liberty 3v is shorter (1,920 mm in comparison to the 1,935 mm length of the previous model), but has increased wheelbase (1,345 mm, compared to 1,325 mm of the previous model). The 15-inch front wheel is upgraded to a 16-inch and the tire specification also sees improvement.

The 2014 Piaggio Liberty 3v features a single cylinder 4-stroke air-cooled single overhead camshaft 3 valve engine, equipped with electronic fuel injection.

The 3-valve technology allows an improvement in torque and power compared to previous generation engines. The Liberty 3v 125 is able to deliver a mileage of 59 km/l at a speed of 50 kmph, while Liberty 3v 150 (not brought to the show) is able to achieve 57 km/l in the same conditions. Service intervals are scheduled every 10,000 km.

The scooter is launched in Midnight Blue, Pearl White and Graphite Black color options.
