Spied - Refreshed Porsche Panamera caught almost undisguised
While Porsche is known for the iconic 911, their first deviation started with the Cayenne - a SUV with Porsche dynamics. Then came the Panamera - a four door, four seater Porsche sedan with a usable boot.
While the exterior looks of the Panamera is very subjective, there is no denying that it does drive true to the brands status.
It has already been over three years since the first Panamera rolled out of Porsche's facility in Leipzig, Germany. In automotive language, that calls for a facelift. And what you see here happens to be the refreshed Panamera undergoing testing, caught by MotorWard reader Toldi, almost undisguised.
Exterior wise, the front and rear bumpers along with the head and tail lights will see a change. Minor cosmetic upgrades to the interiors are expected as well.
This updated Panamera is expected to be shown at the Shanghai Motor Show that begins on the 20th of April. The Panamera is Porsche's second best selling vehicle, the first being the Cayenne accounting for over 50%.
Porsche does not plan on stopping here though. Production of the junior Cayenne, the Q5-based Macan begins this year at the Leipzig factory. At the Paris Motor Show last year, Porsche had shown the Sport Turismo concept which is expected to be undergoing testing as well. Later this decade, a junior version of the Panamera (called the Pajun for now) is expected to join the stable at Porsche.
