The 2013 Skoda Octavia RS Liftback and Combi were revealed by the company through studio shots last month. These cars were spotted recently in Skoda’s home market of Czech Republic, for the first time sans camouflage.

The front of both the models gets redesigned bumpers and neat horizontal lines but without missing out on the famous Octavia visage. The updated logo which is part of the new corporate language now sits on the bonnet leaving the new grill fully visible. The side profile is lowered and dynamic with raked rear window and muscular silhouette. The rear-end is a typical Skoda with neat proportions but without missing out on its function.

Various technological perks borrowed from bigger Volkswagen models are now on offer in the RS such as adaptive cruise control, automated parking assist, KESSY (keyless-entry-start and exit-system), new leather trims and touch screen information system.

A 2.0-liter TSI engine developing 220PS and a 2.0-litre TDI mill producing 184PS are available on the new car. Further, a six-speed manual transmission is standard with an upgrade to a six-speed DSG also available.

The public debut of the 2014 Skoda Octavia RS is scheduled for July 10 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
