International deliveries begin in February 2015

The 2015 Audi Q3 facelift has been revealed much ahead of its global market debut which is scheduled for February 2015. The compact luxury crossover gets quite a few design and technical changes apart from equipment addition.

The front fascia gets redesigned grille and headlamps.

The front fascia is where the visual changes are concentrated. The 'SingleFrame' front grille is now edgier and the redesigned headlamps come with standard Xenon Plus headlamps and LED daytime running lights (LED headlights are optional). And of course, the bumper is revamped too.

The side of the car has been retained without many changes save for the new alloy wheel patterns. The rear fascia gets redesigned LED taillights and a new bumper. Audi offers optional dynamic turn indicators.

The interior stays intact in terms of design and layout but gains additional features such as a luggage compartment package, a pass-through and the power tailgate, and an extensible luggage compartment cover.

The engine lineup has been tweaked to produce more power while complying with the Euro 6 emission norms. The power outputs of the three TSI petrol and three TDI diesel engines range from 120 PS (118.3 bhp) to 220 PS (216.9 bhp) and the CO2 emission are reduced by up to 17%.

The RS Q3 facelift gets 30 PS additional power.

More importantly, the motors come with Audi cylinder on demand technology. The improved 1.4-litre TSI and 2.0-litre TDI units now earn Audi Ultra badges marking their improved efficiency. The RS Q3's 2.5-litre five-cylinder unit now produces 340 PS (335.2 bhp) which is 30 PS more and a torque of 450 Nm.

Audi India is likely to continue with the 2.0-litre TDI engine in its present state of tunes rather than introducing the new Euro 6 version, when they introduce the model in India next year.

The chassis is claimed to have been tweaked for enhanced comfort. The equipment list includes the MMI Plus, Audi Drive Select, blind spot alert, power adjustable front seats, LED ambient lighting, secondary collision brake assist, lane departure warning, etc.

The 2015 Q3 which is made at the Martorell plant in Spain will be launched globally in February 2015. The car is expected to enter India around mid-2015 and like its predecessor, would be locally assembled from CKD kits.
