Diesel Q7 is claimed to be 26% more efficient.

An Indian Autos Blog reader snapped the 2015 Audi Q7 on test in Mumbai recently. The second generation Q7 was unveiled globally at the Detroit Auto Show in January this year, and is expected to launch in India by the end of this year.

The Q7 for India would be powered by the 3.0-liter V6 TDI engine capable of 272 hp.

The model seen here is the TDI variant, which would be offered in India. Powered by a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine, the new Q7 outputs 272 hp and 600 Nm of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission sends the drive to all wheels via Audi's Quattro AWD technology. Compared to the current generation model, the new Q7 TDI is claimed to be 26 percent more efficient.

This increased efficiency comes thanks to a major 325 kg weight loss, courtesy of the new MLB platform. Audi further claims that a low center of mass helps in increased agility, and better road holding capabilities, compared to the outgoing model. The 3.0-liter TDI needs all of 6.3 seconds to accelerate from 0-100 km/h.
