Spied - IAB reader spots the 2015 Audi TT testing in Bangalore
Bangalore based IAB fan Suhas spotted the 2015 Audi TT testing on Richmond Road in the heart of Bangalore City with no camouflage whatsoever.
Suhas's email read that the new Audi TT "looks menacing more in real than in pictures."
The third generation 2015 Audi TT got its world premiere two months ago at the Geneva Motor Show. Like with the A8 facelift, Audi India commenced testing the car before its sales opened in any part of the world.
Audi India’s past Managing Director, Michael Perschke, had told Indian Autos Blog that its not uncommon for Audi’s global models to test in our country, as our roads pose all kinds of challenges, in terms of terrain, atmosphere, altitude and temperature.
Sales of the new TT will not begin until later this year. The sportscar is underpinned by VW’s MQB platform, weighing 50 kg lighter than its predecessor, and was announced with three four-cylinder engines, two petrol and one diesel.
The base petrol variant uses a 2.0-liter TFSI producing 230 hp and 370 Nm of torque, while the top-end petrol TT-S dishes out 310 hp and 380 Nm of torque from the same motor. The third engine is the 2.0-liter TDI (used on several VW group models in India) pushing out 184 hp and 380 Nm of torque.
Two transmissions, a 6-speed manual and 6-speed S-Tronic DSG, are available, while AWD is optional.
