Video - 2015 BMW X5 M and X6 M teased; Debut likely at LA Auto Show

Power would come from a 4.4L V8 engine.

BMW has finally dropped the first official teaser of the highly anticipated performance oriented versions of the new X5 and X6 SUVs. Called the "Paparazzi Challenge", the teaser targets spy photographers who, over the years, have captured pictures of the many prototypes that manufacturers test before launch, so that viewers can have an insight into the final design of a future model in the making.

Developed by BMW's M Division, the X5 M and the X6 M will be based on the latest generations of the X5 and X6 respectively. To stand out from their regular twins, the X5 M and X6 M will feature a more aggressive body that includes all the characteristics of an M model: a sportier front fascia, bigger air intakes, redesigned grille, larger alloy wheels and side vents. They would house a quad exhaust tail-pipe system and a deeper rear bumper for a bolder stance.

The X5 M and X6 M will get a completely reworked suspension system for sportier handling.

Both models will be powered by a 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbo engine that will produce about 560 PS (552.1 bhp) and 680 Nm of torque. Coupled to a 7-speed DCT transmission and powering all wheels via BMW's X-Drive, they are expected to do 0-100km/h in less than 4.7-seconds, before hitting an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h.

The BMW X5 M and X6 M could be unveiled at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show which takes place from November 18, 2014.

BMW could explore launching these models in India, considering that rival Mercedes-Benz introduced cars like the GL 63 AMG and ML 63 AMG in India this year.
