Spied - Chevrolet Captiva to get another facelift

Despite being present long enough in the Indian premium SUV market which is now burgeoning, the Chevrolet Captiva has failed to appeal to the Indian customer. The soft roader received a facelift at the Geneva Motor Show in 2013 and the revised car entered India last August. New spyshots show that GM is preparing another cosmetic update for the SUV. The spyshots can be viewed in the source link below.

The spyshots suggest that not much is going to change. Except for the front fascia which appears to have been tweaked mildly, the rest of the car stays untouched. Expect to see a revised grille, bumper and headlamps (possibly with integrated LED daytime running lights). The interior could also get a few upgrades.

2013 Chevrolet Captiva facelift front
The Chevrolet Captiva received a facelift just last year. The updated car would incorporate subtle tweaks to the front fascia.

The powertrain options would remain that same albeit with minor tweaks to improve efficiency. The India-spec Captiva is motivated by a 2.2-litre diesel engine that pumps out a healthy 186.5 PS (183.8 bhp) and 424 Nm of torque. In the base variant, the engine drives the front wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission while the top end variant sends power to all the wheels through a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Without a replacement in the foreseeable future, GM is looking to stretch the aging SUVs life with a minor update. The refreshed car could be in attendance at the Paris Motor Show in October.
