Guangzhou Live - Next generation 2015 Chevrolet Cruze

Powered by two petrol engines with manual and automatic transmission options.

The all-new 2015 Chevrolet Cruze which made its global debut in China earlier this year has graced the Guangzhou Auto Show 2014.

The Cruze for the domestic market is manufactured by the Shanghai-GM JV. The design cues of the latest iteration of GM's global best selling model comes from the Chevrolet Tru concept that was unveiled at Beijing in 2012.

The two-part grille of the outgoing sedan has been replaced with a slot of an element and a hexagonal secondary airdam. The stylish narrow wraparound headlamps round off the front end design.

In profile, the new Cruze is characterized by a steeply raked A-pillar, an arching roofline and a stubby rear overhang. The sharply contoured rear fascia sports angular taillights, a chrome embellishment and a black plastic rear diffuser.

The China-spec car is available with two four-cylinder petrol engine options. The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated unit puts out an adequate 112 PS (110.42 bhp) while the range-topping 1.4-litre turbocharged motor generates 148 PS (145.9 bhp).

The base engine is offered with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission while the turbo petrol comes paired either to a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT.

Prices range from 109,900 yuan (around INR 10.79 lakhs) to 169,900 (around INR 16.69 lakhs). The next gen Chevrolet Cruze is expected to be launched in India within the next two years.
