2015 Ford Endeavour heads for homologation as launch date nears - Report
Launch confirmed for 2015.
The next-generation Ford Endeavour was spied along with the Ford Mustang, during its homologation, says Gaadi.com. Both vehicles are set to be launched in India this year. With the Endeavour spotted at the certifying agency, we can safely say that the SUV is up for launch soon in India.
While the Endeavour, in the Everest avatar, has its order books open in Thailand, Philippines and Australia, its launch date in India is still in contention. Ford confirmed last year that the SUV would launch in India before the end of 2015, and the festival season usually sees a flurry of launches, big and small.
The overhauled Endeavour featuring the latest technologies, Ford would hope, will give it some teeth to compete against the wildly successful Toyota Fortuner. The next generation 2016 Toyota Fortuner is also due for its launch in India early next year, after its global unveiling next month. The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, the smaller but respectable competitor, is also up for a full model change this year in Thailand.

Available in both 4x2 and 4x4 variants, the Endeavour in the Philippines is priced between INR 19 and INR 27 lakhs for its six variants. Engine options range from a 2.2-liter Duratorq 4-cylinder diesel engine to a 3.2-liter Duratorq diesel motor. While the smaller power unit makes 160 PS and 385 Nm of peak torque, the bigger engine produces 200 PS and 470 Nm of torque.
