Expected to be priced very "competitively".

So far, most of the Ford Figo spyshots that have surfaced are pre-production prototypes based on top-spec variants. However, thanks to Autocar India, here's the first look at an entry level Ford Figo spotted with the usual camou wrap at the front and rear end.

The entry level model will not feature a left side door mirror. Comes with a black plastic grille, door handles; steel rims.

Ford India is looking to broaden the price range of the next generation Figo, so as to appeal to a wider audience. The entry level model (pictured above) will be competitively priced, as apparent from the absence of a left door mirror; steel rims; black painted door handles and right wing mirror; black plastic front grille; and small tires. For comparison sake, the higher variants will feature body colored door mirrors with turn indicators, alloy rims, and chrome radiator grille.

The new Figo will be powered by an improved version of Ford's 1.2-liter four-cylinder engine with TiVCT (variable valve timing) technology. It could deliver around 85 PS of power, sent to the front wheels via a standard 5-speed manual transmission. Also on the cards is the 1.5-liter Duratorq diesel motor from the EcoSport, which will be tuned for better fuel efficiency.

Higher variants will feature body colored door mirrors on both sides with turn indicators, alloy wheels, and chrome grille.

Ford will be aggressively localizing the components for the second gen Figo to arrive at a competitive pricing. It will be manufactured at its new facility in Sanand, Gujarat, and will break cover in mid-2015. Ford is planning to launch the sub-4m Ford Figo "Aspire" first, followed by the hatchback.

Rivals: Hyundai Grand i10, Maruti Celerio, Chevrolet Beat, Honda Brio, Tata Kite
