Design wise, the ASEAN version is similar to the American model. The headlights get a mild redesign and come with integrated LED daytime running lights, the grille is updated to the "Solid Wing Face" look and the front bumper is all-new and gets redesigned foglight enclosures. The American model, due to local regulations, gets a slightly different bumper design.
The rear, much like the American model, gets a new chrome strip and a slightly revised tailgate. Inside, the ASEAN model gains features like a three-angle reverse camera, a new 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with HDMI input and a lane watch system.
The CR-V in Thailand is offered with two engines - a 2.0- and a 2.4-liter - much like the Indian model. Both these engines carry on unchanged in the ASEAN version, while the American model saw the introduction of direct-injection technology for the more powerful 2.4L variant.
However, the 2.4L engine of the ASEAN CR-V is now paired to a CVT gearbox, ditching the 5-speed automatic transmission seen on the current model.
