Paris Live - 2015 Honda CR-V (India-bound)
Gets an optional 9-speed gearbox.
The 2015 Honda CR-V, a mid-life refresh of the world's best selling SUV, has made its global debut at the 2014 Paris Motor Show.
The updated version of the soft roader gets revised headlamps, grille, foglights, skid plate and bumper. Despite the changes, on a quick first glance, it's a little hard to distinguish the facelifted car from the previous version.
The profile continues unchanged while the rear fascia benefits from LED detailing for the combination lamps, subtly redesigned tailgate and a reprofiled bumper. The interior of the SUV has been retained without any noteworthy changes.
The biggest improvement however comes in the form of the new optional 9-speed automatic gearbox which can be specified with a higher output version of the 1.6-litre diesel engine delivering 160 PS and 350 Nm of torque (standard gearbox option is a 6-speed manual unit). This powertrain combo is available with a four-wheel drive system. The old 2.2-litre diesel engine has been phased out.
The base version of the two-wheel drive variant continues to be powered by the 120 PS version of the 1.6-litre diesel engine, mated to a manual transmission.
