INTERMOT 2014 Live - 2015 Honda VFR800X Crossrunner

Gets full LED headlamps.

The refreshed 2015 Honda VFR800X Crossrunner is in attendance at the ongoing INTERMOT 2014 in Cologne, Germany.

Visually, the updated tourer can be identified by means of full LED headlamps and a slightly more aggressive riding stance (still upright enough for touring activities). The seat height is now adjustable, thereby improving the ergonomics.

The 800 cc 90° V4 liquid cooled engine is tuned to deliver increased low- and mid-range torque. The motor which is mated to a 6-speed gearbox produces 106 PS (up from 101 PS) while the peak torque remains unchanged at 73 Nm.

The 2015 model also gets added features such as self-cancelling turn indicators and 5-stage heated handlebar grips as standard. Another significant upgrade comes in the form of Selectable Torque Control System (S-TCS) which is derived from the Crosstourer. The system offers two levels of traction control and can be turned off.

The aluminium twin-beam frame has been made lighter, thanks to the new subframe and aluminium swing arm. Enhancing the touring capabilities is the revised suspension system with longer travel: 25 mm in the telescopic front forks and 23 mm in the rear monoshock. The dual front discs and single rear disc are governed by standard ABS.
