EICMA 2014 Live - 2015 Kawasaki 1400 GTR

Gets minor tweaks.

The 2015 Kawasaki 1400 GTR has been showcased at the EICMA 2014 in Milan, Italy.

The imposing motorcycle which introduced many technologies like tyre pressure monitoring system, keyless ignition and variable valve timing to the two wheeler industry in 2007, gets minor tweaks for the 2015 model year.

For starters, the refreshed 1400 GTR benefits from an improved and larger electrically adjustable windscreen with directional vents which are claimed to improve airflow over the rider's helmet. The seat of the grand tourer has been reshaped to improve pillion comfort and enable the rider to reach the ground more easily.

Other changes include lighter steering, stiffer rear suspension, improved linked braking system, new rear luggage rack and a revised first gear ratio. The second generation K-ABS system has two braking modes and new brake master cylinders. Tank pads, cushioned rider foot pegs and silver bezels around the instrument dials round off the changes.

The 1,352 cc inline four-cylinder engine continues to be mated to a 6-speed transmission to produce 155 PS (152.8 bhp) at 8,800 rpm and 136 Nm of torque at 6,200 rpm. The final drive is transferred by means of a shaft.
