IAB Report - New 2015 Skoda Fabia ruled out for India
Rapid sedan to be key mainstream model for the brand in India.
Speaking to Indian Autos Blog at the launch of the refreshed Yeti today, Mr. Pawel Szuflak, Director for Sales and Marketing for Skoda Auto India Private Limited, ruled out the new 2015 Fabia for the country.
He said -
In India we don't plan at this moment to come with the new generation Fabia. We have taken a call almost two years ago, that our first model or most successful model (sales wise) will be the Skoda Rapid. We're keeping this strategy. At this moment, the new Fabia you see in Europe, we do not plan to launch this car in India.
The new Fabia was revealed last month, and is due for a public premiere at the Paris Motor Show early next month. The hatchback was announced with four petrol and three diesel engines, with fuel efficiency gains of about 17 percent compared to the older model that was sold in India.
