2015 Toyota Alphard - 2015 Bangkok Live
Engine options include a 276-hp 3.5-liter unit and a hybrid powertrain.
Toyota has revealed the latest Thai-spec Alphard MPV at the 2015 Bangkok Motor Show, featuring a new design and plethora of standard equipment. Compared to the Vellfire (also showcased at the motor show), the Alphard is more luxurious and powerful.
The front end has a new chrome grille, large headlamps with LED DRLs, and a deep fascia. The side profile features a new design with an interesting B-pillar, and extended side sill moldings. The rear end is upright with wrap-around taillamps and a large chrome bar between them.
Many of the Alphard's selling points are in the cabin. The MPV follows a 2+2+3 seating configuration, featuring 2nd row Ottoman captain seats. It also comes with dual sunroof, automatic 3-zone air conditioning with purifier, ambient lighting with brightness level with 16 different colors and 4 brightness levels and an intelligent Smart Entry.
The Alphard comes standard with an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen at the front and a 9-inch TFT display mounted on the roof, 17 speaker JBL audio system, a 4.2-inch TFT MID in the instrument cluster, and a navigation system with support for Thai and English languages.
The luxury MPV is available in two variants: Alphard 3.5 and Alphard Hybrid. The former is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine producing 276 hp at 6,200 rpm and peak torque of 340 Nm at 4,700 rpm. The engine is paired to 6-speed automatic transmission with Sequential Shift.
The Alphard hybrid version is powered by a combination of a 2.5 liter 16-valve engine and a four-wheel drive electric system. The petrol engine outputs 150 hp at 5,700 rpm and peak torque of 206 Nm at 4,400-4,800 rpm.
The 2015 Toyota Alphard Hybrid is priced at THB 3,549,000 (INR 67.81 Lakhs), while the range-topping Alphard 3.5 is priced at THB 4,649,000 (INR 88.83 Lakhs). Toyota Motors Thailand is expecting to sell 700 units of the Alphard annually.
