India-bound 2015 Toyota Camry (facelift) - 2015 Bangkok Live

Toyota Motor Thailand had announced the launch of the facelift for the Camry sedan, and the hybrid version of the same is on display at the 2015 Bangkok Motor Show. The changes in tow are a new engine for entry-level models, a new gearbox, improved design and many new safety features.

On the exterior, the 2015 Toyota Camry sports an aggressive front end featuring a redesigned front bumper with a bigger central air intake, slimmer grille flanked by new headlamps housing LED daytime running lights. The hybrid variant gets a new grille pattern and turn indicators on the small intakes. The rear features a chrome bar running through the taillights. Higher variants will come with LED taillights.

The new Camry will be offered in six different variants, which are classified into petrol and hybrid models. The standard petrol models comprise of a 2.0G, 2.0G Extremo, and 2.5G, while the hybrid variants offered are a 2.5HV CD, 2.5HV Navigator and 2.5HV Premium.

Inside, the facelifted Camry comes with a levy of new tech upgrades: Three-zone climate control air conditioning, power-adjustable rear seats, a 10-speaker JBL audio system, Qi wireless charger, dynamic radar cruise control, blind-spot monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, lane departure warning, pre-crash alert and seven airbags. Most of the features are standard in the 2.5HV Premium.

Inside, the facelifted Camry comes with a levy of new tech upgrades: Three-zone climate control air conditioning, power-adjustable rear seats.

Under the hood, the entry level Camry comes with a new 2.0-liter 4 cylinder motor featuring D4-S direct injection and a more advanced VVTi-iW variable valve timing system. It produces 167 hp and 199 Nm (a 20 hp and 9 Nm increase over the outgoing model), and comes paired to a new 6-speed automatic gearbox instead of the 4-speed unit.

Otherwise, the 181 hp 2.5-litre and the 205 hp petrol-electric hybrid variants remain untouched. The hybrid Camry will continue offering its CVT automatic.

The price of the facelifted 2015 Toyota Camry starts at THB 1.319 million (INR 25.19 Laks) for the basic 2.0G (risen by 60,000 baht) and THB 1.429 million (INR 27.29 Lakhs) for the G Extremo. The 2.5G costs THB 1.569 million (INR 29.95 Lakhs), also pricier than the previous model by 60,000 baht.

The Hybrid models will also be costlier than before (a 20,000 baht increase); starting at THB 1.679 million for 2.5HV CD (INR 32.05 Lakhs), THB 1.729 million (INR 33.01 Lakhs) for the 2.5HV Navigator and THB 1.899 million (INR 36.26 Lakh) for 2.5HV Premium.
