JDM Corolla differs completely from international versions.

Toyota has teased the facelift of the Toyota Corolla Axio (Sedan) and the Toyota Corolla Fielder (Station wagon). The Japanese duo will be launched before the end of March, and will come in gasoline and hybrid flavours as at present.

Apart from the optical updates, a new 1.5-liter engine with higher efficiency is also reported for the facelift.

While TMC has not confirmed further details, the teaser confirms the cars's new headlamp, taillamp and grille.

Japanese blog site Haru27biz adds that the Corollas will get a new 1.5L engine (2NR-FKE) which has the same 109 hp output as the current 1.5L, but consumes less fuel at 23.4 km/l, up from 21.4 km/l. The 1.5L hybrid model will get an increase in fuel efficiency to 33.8 km/l from 33 km/l.

The hybrid variant of the Axio was introduced in 2013, while the regular variants launched in early 2012.
