New Toyota Hilux images leaked, previews 2016 Fortuner's front end - IAB Report
Hilux pickup and new Fortuner will be revealed this year.
Toyota is currently working on the next generation of their pickup, the Toyota Hilux, which is expected to be launched this year. A pre-production model has been partially revealed unofficially, giving us a first look at the new front-end design that will also influence the next generation India-bound Toyota Fortuner.
The 2016 Toyota Hilux sports a new, longer dual slat grille flanked by a set of redesigned headlamps, a new front bumper design, a pair of redesigned taillights, and a chrome tailgate handle. Similar to the current model, the next generation Hilux will also be based on a ladder-frame chassis, which would be shared with the next generation Fortuner.
Although speculation is rife that Toyota would fit newly developed diesel engines on the incoming utility vehicles, details on the engine-lineup are scarce at the moment. The current Hilux/Fortuner is available with either a 3.0- or a 2.5-liter D-4D diesel engine that produces 171 hp/343 Nm and 144 hp/343 Nm, respectively.
