Toyota Land Cruiser facelift to launch in August - Rendering
Is reported to get the 'Toyota Safety Sense' package.
Japanese auto portal CarSensor has reported that the Toyota Land Cruiser (Toyota LC200) will receive a facelift in August. The car is manufactured in Japan and sold in 188 countries, including India.
The LC200 was last updated in late 2011 with minor cosmetic changes, but has remained largely the same car that was launched in 2007. The car was introduced to India in 2009 by TKM, though by that time many private imports were on the roads.
According to CarSensor, the facelift's headlamp will get an extended LED strip, the grille will feature clearly segregated chrome slats, the front air intake will be set lower, and the foglamps will flank the intakes in a trapezoidal enclosure.
The magazine's expectation is that the 'Toyota Safety Sense' packet will be introduced on the flagship SUV. This fits the car with a radar and camera for pedestrian detection and autonomous braking, radar cruise control, lane departure assistance and auto high beam function.

The scoop story also discusses the introduction of a new generation 2.8-liter four-cylinder diesel engine, paired to a six-speed automatic gearbox, while the 4.6-liter V8 petrol that produces 318 PS and 460 Nm on the current model will continue to be sold.
