New York Live - 2015 VW Golf Sportwagen

VW has unveiled the Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen concept at the New York Auto Show. The concept, VW says, previews the 2015 production version.

VW is calling the concept as "A sportier alternative to compact SUVs". There are two engines on offer. A turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that develops 170 bhp and a 2.0-liter TDI that makes 150 bhp. While the petrol engine can be connected to a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic, the TDI can be paired to a six-speed manual or DSG transmission.

The production-model, which is to be launched early in 2015, will get bi-xenon headlamps, panoramic sunroof, 18-inch aluminium wheels along with automatic climate control inside.
