India-bound 2016 Audi A4 snapped without camouflage - Spied
Likely to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show this year.
World Car Fans reader, Umit Merakli, snapped the next generation 2016 Audi A4 testing without camouflage in Turkey recently.
The new A4 is expected to be based on the MLB Evo platform, and is likely to come with a weight saving of about 100 kg. Based on these spyshots, it appears that designers have opted for an evolutionary approach, as the silhouette and windows of the sedan appear similar to the current generation model.
Powering the new A4 will be engines as small as a 1.4-liter TFSI unit with cylinder deactivation technology, while a plug-in hybrid model will also be introduced to compete with the likes of the Mercedes C350 Plug-in hybrid, and the BMW 3 Series facelift which is reported to offer a hybrid variant as well.
Reports say that the new A4 will be revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September this year, with European deliveries set to start by the end of this year or early next year. The A4 is an important volume contributor for Audi India, and is assembled at the Aurangabad plant by way of CKD kits.

The 2.0-liter TDI variant of the A4 contributes to the majority of sales. Where the current A4 (2.0 TDI and 1.8 TFSI) is paired with a Multitronic CVT gearbox, the new generation model would see a DSG transmission.
