The 2016 Audi Q5 will be the first model to roll out of Audi's new plant San Jose Chiapa, Mexico.

The rendering depicts an exterior design that looks like the shrunken version of the 2015 Audi Q7. It gets a new 6-point Singleframe grille flanked by Matrix LED headlamps, revised bumper design, and a more angular design. The rear-end receives a slightly revised design featuring LED taillamps, new tailgate design and dual exhaust tips.

Based on the MLB Evo platform, which also underpins the new 2016 Audi A4 and 2015 Audi Q7, the new Q5 is also expected to lose around 100 kg in kerb weight. Reports state that the Q5 will offer four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, and the 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine from the new A4. These engines will be offered with either the S-Tronic dual-clutch gearbox or the 8-speed tip-tronic transmission.
