Audi today unveiled the 2016 Audi Q7 that will world premiere at the 2015 North American International Auto Show next month.

The car is powered by either a 3.0-liter turbo petrol or diesel engine.

Measuring 5.05 meters in length, 2.99 meters in wheelbase, 1.97 meters in width and 1.74 meters tall, weighing 325 kilograms lighter, and having a lower center of mass than the outgoing version, the model consumes 26 percent lower fuel while offering more room for passengers and luggage.

The new Q7 weighs 1,995 kg and the TFSI engine (petrol) consumes 28 percent less fuel, while the TDI engine (diesel) consumes 23 percent less.

The new Q7 is shorter and narrower than its predecessor, yet it offers more interior space.

Driven through an all-wheel drive system, the car is powered either by a 3.0-liter TDI with 272 hp and 600 Nm outputs or a 3.0 TFSI with 333 hp and 440 Nm outputs, that accelerate the new Audi Q7 from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds and 6.1 seconds, and on to a top speed of 234 km/h and 250 km/h respectively.

The new Audi virtual cockpit, new MMI all-in-touch control unit with large touchpad, Audi tablet for the rear seat passengers, the two sound systems with 3D audio, Smartphone integration with Google Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are some of the features.

Audi virtual cockpit, adaptive cruise control and LED ambient lighting are some of the notable features.

Some of the safety systems in the car are the rear parking aid, cruise control, adjustable speed limiter, rest recommendation and the safety system Audi pre sense city.

In 2015, the Q7 range will get the Q7 e-tron quattro equipped with a 3.0-liter diesel engine and electric motor, paired to an eight-speed tiptronic gearbox. Combined, the system produces 373 hp and 700 Nm, with a fuel mileage of 58.82 km/l and a CO2 emissions equivalent of under 50 g/km.

Sales will begin with Germany during the March-May 2015 period at a starting price of 61,000 Euros (INR 47.40 lakhs)
