Based on the second generation MLB platform, the new Q7 is lighter than before: it has shed around 325 kg in comparison to the previous model, which by any standard, is a huge progress. The weight loss will make it more efficient (petrol versions claimed to be 28 per cent more efficient while diesel's efficiency is up by 23 per cent) and shall improve its driving dynamics.
Engine options include a 215 hp, 500Nm producing 3-litre diesel that sits at the bottom of the range, going all the way up to the range-topping plug-in hybrid version that makes 368 hp and 700 Nm of torque. In terms of dimensions, it's 5.05 meters long, 1.97 meters wide, and 1.74 meters tall.
The quattro all-wheel drive system will be present, while other safety features will include a rear parking aid, cruise control, adjustable speed limiter, Audi pre-sense city safety system, etc. The vehicle will be loaded with features like the new Audi virtual cockpit, new MMI infotainment system with touchpad input, 3D audio, and smartphone integration via Google Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
