IAB reader spots the 2016 Audi S3 Sportback (facelift) testing in Germany - Spied
Appears to feature minor cosmetic revisions.
Audi is planning to introduce a facelift to the entire A3 range, which is expected launch globally this year. One of the models to receive a facelift is the Audi S3 Sportback, which was spotted testing by IAB follower, Olaf Mackert, in Germany.
The 2016 Audi S3 Sportback appears to feature minimal cosmetic revisions. The areas covered by camouflage will undergo a facelift, as seen in the new headlamp LED pattern, revised front bumper design that borrows cues from the hotter Audi RS3 Sportback. The rear-end will also undergo a minor facelift, featuring update taillight clusters and a new diffuser that houses the quad exhaust tailpipes.
Inside, one of the biggest changes expected in the 2016 Audi A3 is the option of Audi's new Virtual cockpit fully digital instrument cluster with a 12.3-inch display, as well new interior color and trim options.

Under the hood will be the same 2.0-litre TFSI turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine good for 300 PS and 380 Nm of torque. The engine is linked to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard, but 6-speed S tronic transmission is available optionally.
Power is distributed to the wheels via the Quattro permanent all-wheel drive system. The current model is capable of sprinting from standstill to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds (5.0 seconds with the S-Tronic gearbox).
