2016 BMW 7 Series M760Li xDrive - 2016 Geneva Motor Show Live
M Performance model available only in long-wheelbase version.
The 2016 BMW 7 Series range now includes a new range-topping model in the international markets - BMW M760Li xDrive, which was shown today at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. A BMW M Performance model is as close as the BMW 7 Series gets to BMW M. As the designation suggests, the model is based on the long-wheelbase version (G12).
The 2016 BMW 7 Series 760Li xDrive is equipped with the M aerodynamic package including larger air intakes in the front apron and exclusive 20-inch M light-alloy wheels in double-spoke 760M design with matt Cerium Grey finish. The kidney grille frame and the front of the grille bars feature exclusive galvanized Cerium Grey finish.
The apron strip and the strips on the exterior door handles, Air Breathers, side door trim elements and boot lid handles, all add colour accents, adding to the model's special styling. Furthermore, the Cerium Grey mirror caps, V12 badges on the C-pillars and M logos on the sides of the car and M sports exhaust system with flap control and galvanised Cerium Grey twin tailpipes in exclusive design are among other worth noting exterior features.
Inside, the BMW M Performance model sports exclusive M leather steering wheel with M logo and Pearl Gloss Chrome multifunction buttons (on its spokes) and shift paddles (on the reverse), door sill plates with illuminated V12 logo, exclusive speedometer featuring the model designation and a dial now extending to 330 km/h (205 mph) in the instrument cluster, M pedals and M driver's footrest.
The centre console area around the selector lever and iDrive Controller is embellished with a BMW Individual decorative inlay in Piano Finish Black and with V12 badging. The optional touch Command Panel in the rear passenger armrest also gets V12 badging.
Getting to the technicals, the BMW M760Li xDrive, or BMW 7 Series M Performance if we may, debuts the new 6.6-litre M Performance TwinPower Turbo biturbo V12 petrol engine that develops 441 kW (600 hp) and 800 Nm (590 lb.-ft.) of torque.
Power is sent to the wheels via 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission and distributed between them using the xDrive all-wheel drive system. 0-100 km/h can be clocked in just 3.9 seconds, but the top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph). However, opting for the M Driver's Package increases the restricted top speed to 305 km/h (189 km/h).
