The Cadillac CT6 made its world debut at the 2015 New York Auto Show, featuring the company's latest design language that combines modern elements with the characteristic sharp looks of a Cadillac. It is based on the GM Omega platform, which will also underpin a future Buick flagship sedan to be manufactured and sold in China as well.

The Chinese-spec CT6 features a "40T" badging, which seems to be the local designation of the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine. It produces 405 hp and 543 Nm of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox. For increased fuel efficiency, the engine supports cylinder deactivation.
