2016 Chevrolet Trailblazer (facelift) spotted for the first time - Brazil

Expected to break cover next year.

Just when GM India were testing the current Trailblazer SUV, due for a launch in the Indian market this year, spyshots from Brazil reveal a heavily camouflaged Chevrolet SUV, which is reportedly a mid-cycle facelift for the Trailblazer that launched in 2012.

We can infer that the next Trailblazer will featured an upright front-end that seems to borrow cues from the larger Chevrolet Tahoe.

Some companies camouflage competitor cars in real world tests to benchmark their future product, but in this case there is suspicious level of camouflage, new parts and design modifications to convince us that GM is testing the Trailblazer facelift.

Being one of the first test mules of the updated SUV, it doesn't feature production-spec elements from the final design. What we can infer is that the next Trailblazer will feature an upright front-end that seems to borrow cues from the larger Chevrolet Tahoe.

The Brazilian designed SUV could sport a bigger grille that is split in Chevrolet's fashion, bolder headlamps with LED DRLs, revised bumper, and new 18-inch alloy rims for top variants. The rear is expected to get new taillamps, and an updated bumper as well.

No changes are reported for the interior of the car. As with any facelift, expect updates to the MyLink infotainment system, seat upholstery and trim, and interior features.

The facelifted Trailblazer will offer the same 2.8-liter Duramax turbodiesel capable of 200 hp and 500 Nm of torque and a 3.6-liter V6 petrol engine with 277 hp. It will, reportedly, offer a 2.5-liter EcoTec petrol engine producing 202 hp and 259 Nm of torque, in select markets.

Apparently, Chevrolet will offer the facelifted Trailblazer with an entry-level LT variant, which will feature 16-inch rims, and lack a third row seating option.
