2016 Ford EcoSport (without external spare wheel) snapped in India - Spied
Gets an improved diesel engine as well.
Seen here are more spyshots of the 2016 Ford EcoSport, which recently went for order in Europe, with a host of cosmetic and mechanical updates.
The external spare wheel will be an option for owners, and those who prefer not having it, get a redesigned door with a registration plate enclosure and a puncture repair kit instead. Ford has also made a series of changes to the interior of the compact SUV to make it more appealing to European customers. A color screen for the SYNC entertainment system, chrome garnished dials and electric window switches, and updated NVH levels are the changes Ford has made inside.
Mechanically, the 1.5-liter TDCi diesel engine of the 2016 EcoSport is now retuned to produce an extra 5 PS at 95 PS, which Ford says has improved low-end response. The ride height has been lowered by 10 mm, and the suspension, ESC and steering have been fine tuned for European road conditions, Ford said in its press release.

The updated EcoSport for Europe will continue to be imported from Ford India's Chennai plant. However, Ford India has not announced any plans to update the EcoSport for the Indian market. The sub-4 meter SUV was launched in June 2013, with three engine options for India.
