2016 Ford Taurus revealed - IAB Report [Update]

The all-new 2016 Ford Taurus has been unveiled for the Chinese market prior to its launch later this year.
Featuring Ford's trademark hexagonal radiator chrome grille, flanked by sweptback LED headlamps, the car won't be mistaken for a rival make. It is hoisted on 19-inch 10-spoke wheels, flaunts LED taillights and chrome exhaust tips.
The interior boasts of a “smart design” with a full panoramic sunroof, and over 25 “intelligent” storage spaces. Measuring five meters in length, the car will have a 2.95-meter wheelbase for "abundant" leg room for rear passengers.
Talking about the rear passengers who is at the center of attention for this product, Ford has installed for them, high power-reclining rear seats with optional adjustable lumbar support with a massage function. A folding-down center seat cushion conceals a control panel that has controls for seat function, media and air conditioning. The seat can be folded up, and is in a 40/20/40 layout.
Ford says it has used materials that "reinforce the feeling of comfort and exceptional, uncompromised quality." While leather is used on the seats, it is complemented by the application of wood elements in other cabin parts.
The cabin is decked extensively with sound-deadening materials, so that "all occupants are treated to an exceptionally quiet cabin matched by a smooth and comfortable ride."
Ford's press release is not containing details on the Taurus' new 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine, but Chinese media portals claim that the engine will be paired to a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. The reports add that the exact length of the car is 4,996 mm and the wheelbase is 2,949 mm.
The Chinese press expects the new Taurus to launch in the second half of the year at a starting price of 300,000 yuan (INR 30.28 lakhs), slotting above the Mondeo.
