The updated fully faired motorcycle carries improvements such as a larger fuel tank, an adjustable fork, a sharper front fairing with revised twin head lamps (with LED elements) and visor, a golden treatment for the crank case, a new tailpiece with an LED tail light, a 'wave' type key and a stubby silencer which is claimed to improve mass centralisation.

It is powered by a 471 cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that is left untouched, and is mated to a 6-speed transmission. The motorcycle complies with the European A2 license limitations as its maximum power is 47 PS.

The street fighter carries forward the enhancements that are seen on its fully faired sibling. The CB500F loses some of the bodywork surrounding the fuel tank and offers a more upright riding posture compared to the CBR500R. It is powered by the same engine that is seen aboard the latter.
