2016 Honda Fit Twist (Honda Jazz Twist) spotted again - Brazil
Likely to be exclusive to Brazilian market, initially.
Carplace Brazil reader, Renato Ricci, has captured the next Honda Fit Twist (Honda Jazz Twist) testing near the company's assembly plant in Sumarè. It is expected to start hitting showrooms in Brazil from mid-2016, according to reports.
The Honda Fit Twist is a rugged, crossover version of the regular Honda Fit (or Honda Jazz in India) that was exclusive to the Brazilian market in its previous generation. Although the spyshots do not reveal much of the exterior design, IndianAutosBlog’s rendering below gives an idea of what to expect from the pseudo-crossover.
The outgoing Fit Twist packed a 1.5-liter Flex-fuel engine delivering 116 hp and 153 Nm of torque, paired to either a manual gearbox or CVT. The latest Fit Twist is likely to use the same engine, albeit slightly revised for better refinement and fuel efficiency.
New Honda Civic to launch in Brazil in April 2016
As for the Indian market, Honda India has not yet confirmed plans of launching the Honda Fit Twist (or Honda Jazz Twist as it’s likely to be called), despite the demand for pseudo-crossovers. If they do consider, the Jazz Twist will rival established models like the Hyundai i20 Active, VW Cross Polo and Fiat Avventura. In South America, it will compete with the Renault Sandero Stepway and the Hyundai HB20X.
