India-bound 2016 Hyundai Elantra/Avante snapped with camouflage - Spied
Features an updated design inline with latest range.
Hyundai will soon announce the next generation Hyundai Elantra (called Hyundai Avante in some markets) this year, featuring an updated design, new equipment and a fuel-efficient engine lineup. A slew of spyshots revealing a camouflaged pre-production model have surfaced from Korea, giving us a less-obtrusive look at the next generation Elantra.
According to spyshots, the design will be an evolutionary step over the outgoing model that is currently sold. It will retain the familiar design lines, but feature updated design elements such as a larger horizontal slat chrome grille, larger projector headlamps with LED DRLs, a pair of LED strips in the lower fascia, and new taillamps with a re-designed LED cluster.
Although the interior hasn't been revealed in the spyshots, expect upgraded equipment such as adaptive cruise control (a spyshot of a module installed in the lower fascia could be related to this), autonomous emergency braking, and a new high-end JBL Surround Sound system. Hyundai could also improve the build quality with premium materials and interior trim.
Powering the new Elantra is a revised range of four-cylinder diesel engines which could also include the 1.6-liter T-GDI petrol unit from the new Tucson. In the Tucson, it develops 176 PS, which is sent through either an all new 7-speed dual-clutch transmission or a 6-speed manual.

Given its production-ready looks and minimal camouflage, the launch of the all new Hyundai Elantra could take place in the coming few months. Hyundai India could launch the executive sedan towards the end of 2016, as the facelifted version of the current Elantra was launched only in April this year.
