2016 Hyundai Elantra spied testing in Chennai
To launch in India later this year.
The 2016 Hyundai Elantra was spied testing in Chennai, donning the black cloth wrapping to hide its new exterior design. It is expected to launch in India in mid-2016.
The exterior of the India-spec Hyundai Elantra will be identical the model sold in countries like U.S. and Korea. It measures 4610 mm long, 1800 mm wide, 1450 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2700 mm. Some of the exterior features include HID headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, shark fin antenna, parking sensors and 16 inch alloy rims in the top grade.
The interior features a new 3-spoke steering wheel, center console and revised instrument cluster. The India-spec model could get a 7-or 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation and Android Auto in top-end grades, while lower grades make do with a LCD display and navigational buttons.

The 2016 Hyundai Elantra’s engine choices will, reportedly, include two petrol units and one diesel unit. The petrol engines will be the 1.6-litre GDi and 2.0-litre MPi, while the diesel engine will be the 1.6-litre VGT CRDi unit. A 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic are likely to be the transmission options offered at launch.
