2016 Hyundai Elantra Sport snapped testing in Korea - Spied
Reported to launch next month.
Ubinine has manage to capture the first spyshots of the 2016 Hyundai Elantra Sport, ahead of its reported launch next month. The car was spotted in South Korea.
From what we can notice so far, the Hyundai Elantra Sport will ride on large 18 inch diamond cut alloy wheels, and feature large intakes in the front bumper with LED DRLs, new headlight cluster with projector lamps, gloss black accents underlining the bumper and side sills, and twin chrome-finished exhaust pipes enclosed by a faux diffuser.
Inside, changes will be limited to color combinations and upholstery. The Elantra Sport gets new color accents in the interior, "Sport" lettering across the front seats with red/black leather, and contrasting red seat belts. It will carryover features from the regular model, such as Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), High Beam Assist (HBA), Blind Spot Detection (BSD) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).

The report states that the Hyundai Elantra Sport will be powered by a 1.6-liter T-GDI petrol engine from the Hyundai Veloster Turbo, which produces 201 hp and 265 Nm of torque. It will be paired to a 7-speed DCT gearbox. Another interesting change reported is that the Hyundai Elantra Sport will offer independent suspension at the back for better handling.
The regular 2016 Hyundai Elantra has just commenced testing in India, ahead of a launch expected this calendar year.
