2016 Jaguar XJ (Facelift) unveiled - IAB Report
Features cosmetic and equipment upgrades.
Jaguar has unveiled the facelift for the Jaguar XJ limo, which will make its world debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Changes are only limited to cosmetic and interior equipment upgrades for the new model.
The exterior design is largely identical to the outgoing model, save for re-designed front and rear bumpers, standard LED headlamps with signature 'Double J' LED DRLs, New LED taillights and oval exhaust tips. Jaguar is also adding two new variants, R-Sport and Autobiography LWB, to current line-up that includes the XJ Luxury, Premium Luxury, Portfolio and the XJR.
Like the exterior, the interior design also remains untouched. Jaguar have, however, improved the seat customization options by offering new stitching patterns, colors for the upholstery, and wood trim. Equipment wise, the XJ now offers a eight-inch capacitive touchscreen with InControl Touch Pro premium infotainment system as standard. The 12.3 inch instrument display has also been revised to display full-screen navigation.
The only significant change in the facelifted Jaguar XJ's engine lineup is the 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine, which now produces 300PS and 700Nm (up from 275 PS and 600 Nm). Other engines include the Ford-sourced 2.0L engine with 240 PS and 340 Nm, a 3.0-litre supercharged V6 developing 340PS and 450Nm, and a 5.0-litre V8 available in two states: 510PS/625Nm and 550PS/680Nm (XJR only).
All variants comes standard with an 8-speed ZF gearbox. For some markets, Jaguar will offer an all wheel drive system as standard equipment.
Prices for new Jaguar XJ start from GBP 58,690 - 100,000 (INR 58.87 Lakhs - 99.84 Lakhs). Sales will begin on Autumn 2015 in the British market. The updated XJ's Indian launch is expected to take place late this year or early next year.
