2016 Mercedes E Class (W213) render offers best look yet at exterior - Rendering
World premiere at 2016 Detroit Motor Show.
Autobild has posted a new rendering of the next Mercedes E Class (W213), which offers the best look yet at Merc's luxury mid-size sedan. The 2016 E Class is expected to make its digital debut in the coming days, ahead of its world premiere at the 2016 Detroit Motor Show.
Based on inputs from spyshots of undisguised test mules and features that Mercedes have revealed so far, the exterior design depicted in the render borrows design inspiration from the Mercedes C Class and S Class sedans; highlighting its middle-ground positioning. Certain features such as the Multibeam LED headlamp and taillamp designs, bumpers and grille styling will help offer a distinctive look to the 5 Series-rival.
Mercedes has already revealed the interior of the next E Class, which also combines design cues borrowed from the Mercedes S Class and C Class. Being a noteworthy upgrade from the outgoing model, the new E Class gets optional 12.1 inch displays for the driver and the COMAND infotainment system, four round air vents in the center, flowing dashboard design, ambient lighting, analogue clock in the center console, ARTICO leather upholstery complemented by silver and wood trim, and a high output Burmester audio system.

The German manufacturer will reveal the engine details when the 2016 E Class makes its digital debut. As of now, many reports have suggested that it will be offered with a lineup of 2.0-liter four cylinder petrol and diesel engines, 3.0-liter in-line six cylinder petrol and diesel units and a 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 option in the top-end AMG variant. The only transmission option will be the 9G-TRONIC automatic gearbox, while the AMG variant could get the AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7G-DCT.
